Guyana’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrated in Qatar.

The Guyanese community in Qatar came together in 2026 to proudly celebrate Guyana’s Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of independence since the country gained independence on 26 May 1966. The celebration was a meaningful occasion that brought together Guyanese nationals, families, friends and members of the wider community to recognise the country’s remarkable journey over the past six decades. It was also an opportunity to celebrate Guyana’s rich cultural heritage, national identity, traditions and the strong sense of unity that continues to connect Guyanese people around the world. Throughout the celebration, the spirit of Guyana was proudly reflected through culture, community and national pride. The Diamond Jubilee served as a reminder of the progress the country has made while also recognising the contributions of Guyanese people living and working abroad.
