Where Science Meets a World of Colour: Inside Doha’s Colorverse Experience

During the experience, Spotlight-QA met with Yasmeen Sharaf, an enthusiastic scientist from Science Street, whose passion for science education is immediately infectious. Yasmeen is more than an educator—she is a science communicator who knows how to make children stop, look, ask questions and, most importantly, wonder. Inspiring curiosity, one child at a time Engaging hundreds of children, Yasmeen brings science down to a level that feels accessible, exciting and fun. Her programmes are highly interactive, encouraging children to participate rather than simply watch. Whether they are experimenting with colour, observing scientific reactions or discovering the principles behind everyday phenomena, children become active participants in the learning process. There is little room for passive learning here. Instead, young visitors are encouraged to explore, experiment and ask the question every scientist begins with: “Why?” That sense of curiosity is at the heart of Yasmeen’s approach. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and it is easy to see why children respond so positively to her programmes. She creates an environment where being curious is encouraged and where getting something wrong becomes part of the discovery process.
